Open QuickBooks again with these solutions

Solution 1: Repair the installation of QuickBooks  

  • Press Ctrl + Alt + Del on the keyboard altogether.
  • Please select the option of Task Manager as it appears.
  • Process tab will appear; click on the Process tab to move to the next step.
  • Right-click on one of the QuickBooks processes of your choice.
  • You must click on End Process now
  • You shall now see the confirmation process and must choose the end all processes option.
  • Attempt to restart the QuickBooks application.
  • If it opens, you must click on Repair QuickBooks.

Solution 2: Attempt to access the company file from a different method 

  • First, press and hold the Windows+ E buttons to open Windows explorer.
  • You’ll be displayed with several files in Windows Explorer.
  • Search for the QBW file extension among these files.
  • It is recommended to search for the QBW file on the network drive.
  • Right-click the mouse for the dropdown to open up, and select Copy.
  • After you have copied the file, go to the C: drive and create a new folder.
  • Name the new folder as per your convenience, for example, QBTESTER
  • Now open the newly created folder QBTESTER and paste the QBW file.
  • Press ctrl on your keyboard and simultaneously click on the QuickBooks icon.
  • Now attempt to access the company file you had copied.

Solution 3:  Try restarting the computer 

Sometimes the most simple and obvious solutions, which often get ignored, might work like magic. Restarting the computer is one of these solutions. 

  • Open the Start button situated at the left end of the taskbar.
  • Choose the Power option and select Restart among Sleep, Restart and Shut Down.
  • The Restart process of the computer will start. After the computer has opened again, try opening QuickBooks to see if the Error is rectified.
